Of course, Marie Claire has no problems promoting hate against overweight people. After all, they are in the business of selling a certain body image. But usually most magazines are clever about disguising the poison. Clearly that wasn't raking in the attention. So, they let Maura Kelly sling her self-loathing fueled venom. Charming. I guess at least they plumped up their traffic hits?

Too late in the night, there will be a moment when you stand before the mirror in your bathroom, your face hollowed out in weird places from a low-wattage light bulb, toes curling from the cold tile, and you will realize beneath the harsh lighting at the too-late hour, that whatever you did or said during the day - no matter how many friends or co-workers nodded their heads or politely laughed - you stand alone.

Hopefully, it isn't really the too-late proposition that it feels like.

It's always best to make it count the first time.

It's not a misspelling. It has become fashionable in certain media areas for people to form friendship and then toss them aside rather quickly. I think the hazard of striking friendships in online environments, for some, is that some people consider the relationships to be disposable.

As though there is no depth to be found there.

There are still some interesting thoughts lurking somewhere in the deep recesses of my wicked mind. But lately, it's harder to look at the actual thoughts formed into words.

They make me want to hide.

I realize it's been a while since I have been here. Don't worry, I have been lurking. Just hadn't had much to say. Even when lurking, the ability to comment often failed me. I don't do well as the holidays approach. It's getting better each year, but this year has been stressful.

Since I lost a lot of sleep over this, I thought I would share the pain. This is one of those entries that will probably piss people off and attract trolls. *looks around for her give a shit* Oh look - it left the building. *waves at it*

For the past few nights I have been having trouble sleeping. As my husband said, sometimes things grab you differently when you have your own daughter. This left me crying, and I don't cry over much. It concerns female genital mutilation. There are no graphic scenes as far as blood or actual body parts, but it is still heart-wrenching nonetheless.

I told Avon that I would. So, here ya go....... tell me a little about yourself. Although, I totally understand if you ignore me and flip me off. That's OK, too. I won't be offended. I'm currently in a very laid back kinda mood. (Beware that flipping me off might make me think it's a lewd offer.  In which case...sadly, I won't be offended either. Not much offends me.)
